iv Took only 5 minutes to replace the old one. As another reviewer had mentioned somewhere, when replacing the element one of the things to be careful about is the wires dropping back thru the sockets into the back of the oven (you will then have to open up the back panel). One way I found to prevent that was to pull the wires out a bit and attach clothes pegs to them until the new element was secured to the wires. Then you can remove the clothes pegs, put the element into place and screw it on to the backboard.
